BARR. MRS. NNENNA NWAOKOBIA

Mrs. Nnenna Nwaokobia is a Legal Practitioner, Neutral, Chartered Mediator, Company Secretary,
seasoned Administrator and a trained Arbitral Registrar. As a legal practitioner with 27 years work
experience she has established success stories across various sectors including Banking, Mortgage and
Manufacturing. She is a member of Worldwide Independent Lawyers League (W.I.L.L.) an International
network of over 360 lawyers across 70 countries offering legal services across international borders.
She is a member of various Associations including Business Network International (BNI), Health
Emergency Initiative for Indigent Persons (HEI), Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates (SCMA),
Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (CIBN), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
(ICSAN) , Association of Professional Women Bankers (APWB) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered
Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC). She is a member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers
(FIDA), and is also involved in a number of other Non Governmental Organisations that promote, preserve
and protect the well being of children, the girl child and women.
Her banking career of ten years were in Union Bank and Diamond Bank Groups and spanned the period
2000 and 2009. Within this period, she worked in the Mortgages, Advances and Legal units, handling and
overseeing various commercial transactions and collaborations with real estate developers, government
bodies and private companies, recording many successes. She left Diamond Mortgages Ltd (a subsidiary
of the then Diamond Bank Plc) as its Ikoyi Branch Manager to focus on personal career goals and her
private legal practice in October 2009.
As a Company Secretary, she helps Companies keep statutory records, maintain compliance with
regulatory bodies in their industries, avoid penalties and embarrassing situations that will bring the
company to disrepute, and assist foreign companies wanting to establish their business in Nigeria from
incorporation to providing end to end transactions to assist them start smooth operations, including
registration of trademarks, patents, designs, relevant operating licenses and obtaining necessary
government permits and quotas.
As a legal practitioner she also deals a lot with start ups, providing legal advice and preparing agreements
needed to enable them avoid usually experienced pitfalls with intended business partners and contractors.
As a Mediator she has offered interventions in many disputes and conflict situations seeking to help parties
solve their problems amicably without resource to violence.
The motto of her practice (TGHL Corporate Practice) says it all: “Providing legal solutions for your peace of
mind”.
One of her many interests is Health Emergency Initiative for Indigent Persons (HEI). HEI work with social
workers in government hospitals and provide funds up to a limit to assist indigent patients victims pay their
medical bills and assist accident emergency patients with initial stabilisation and first aid support. HEI has
performed more than 600 interventions since the NGO was formed in October 24, 2015. The website
