MRS. ADEBIMPE OGUNLEYE, HCIB
Adebimpe Esther Ogunleye has to her credit over 32 years banking experience spanning over various aspects of financial services at community levels, rural and urban as well as regulatory organizations in Nigeria. She is the pioneer Managing Director of Bowen Microfinance Bank Limited, Lagos, Nigeria where she successfully managed the operations of the bank for 10years. As a microfinance expert, she is very passionate about the Financial Inclusion of the active poor particularly the development of micro entrepreneurs in women and youths in communities.
A Certified Microfinance Practitioner (MCIB) and an Honorary Senior Member (HCIB) of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). She is also a Certified Microfinance Expert of Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany. A Fellow of Microfinance Association of UK and the Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management of Nigeria(FCILR). Master’s degree holder in Marketing from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Adebimpe Esther Ogunleye is the immediate Chairperson for the South-West Zone of the National Association of Microfinance Banks in Nigeria. She is currently the Finance Expert for New Face New Vision ,the Nigerian arm of Graca Machel Trust(GMT). Adebimpe Esther Ogunleye is an Alumni of ABF(African Board Fellowship Program of Center For Financial Inclusion for ACCION INTERNATIONAL, a Licensed International Expert Consultant (CMIEC) and a Certified International Professional Manager CIPM).
Adebimpe Esther Ogunleye is currently the Chairperson of the Board of Standard Adjusters & Co Ltd, Director of Microfinance Development Company Limited(MDCL) and the Chief Executive Officer of GERAR INITIATIVE – an NGO committed to bringing the youth and women into the financial inclusion through the provision of micro financial services at the community level .
She has served the Association of Professional Women Bankers(APWB )in various capacity and she is currently the 2nd Vice Chairperson of APWB leading the establishment of other Chapters of the APWB within Nigeria and in the Diaspora. Aside her professional community service, Bimpe Ogunleye belongs to other communities where she serves in various capacities.
