MRS FUNMILAYO ADELOKUN, ACIB
Funmi holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
Funmi started her banking career in 2006 in the then Oceanic Bank International Plc., where she served in various capacities in Banking Operations before moving to Business Development, managing portfolios and providing financial advisory services to High-Net-worth Individuals (HNI) and corporate organizations.
She continued in this role till 2013 when Ecobank Nigeria Ltd acquired Oceanic Bank. In a bid to further expand her horizon, she moved to the Internal Audit function in 2017 where she was responsible for providing assurance services for all the head office functions.
Funmi is currently the Audit Manager at SunTrust Bank Ltd, a role she assumed in 2022.
Funmi is passionate about seeing women excel in a any chosen field of endeavor. One of her life philosophies is “We Can Become Whatever We Choose To Be”, a mantra she picked up in her early teens as a high school student under the tutelage of Late Dr. Tai Solarin, the founder of her Alma Mata. This drive for excellence endeared her to volunteer to serve in the Association of Professional Women Bankers, whose Mission Statement is to “increase female participation in leadership roles and promote a culture of integrity and professionalism in the banking industry”.
Funmi Adelokun is the current Auditor of the association.
